Dressing up the Lokerse Feesten-website has become an annual tradition at Design is Dead. Based on a profound analysis of the 2010 design trends, this year’s festival outfit is all about the mix of hi-tech geometrical patterns, nature and arts & crafts. However, since we understand the importance of userfriendliness, we took it easy. No visual overkill, and most importantly: easy access to festival and band information, something we believe every festivalgoer will appreciate.

Each year, the festival season countdown begins with the launch of the new Rock Werchter website. For the 2010 edition, we pimped the 2009 structure with new graphics and extra features such as an extended picture gallery. Browse through a decade of festival fever, super bands and shiny happy party people and check out the latest news online.

From traditional spot-advertising to event-sponsoring, MTV Networks has what it takes to pimp a brand’s mediaplan. Formerly only available in print, the MTV sales team decided to hit 2010 with a futureproof online exhibition of their many media solutions. Pimped by Design is Dead, of course…

Shoulderpads, MC Hammer, tacky fluorescent colours, punk and synthpop,…: we knew the eighties were back in town before the fashion-gurus could even click their heels. And yes, those eighties wonder years inspired us to give the Lokerse Feesten festival a rather extreme makeover, from head to toes, from logo to website. With a happy client and good prospects for the coming years, we dare speak of a mission accomplished. Make sure to pay this newly (re-)born festival and website a maternity visit!

This year, Rock Werchter rocks harder than ever. Sure the fingerlickin’ line-up has got something to do with that, but, let’s be honest: the website is quite a headliner too! For this year’s edition, we broke a tradition of many years: no Flash, but a funky html-creation. Userfriendly interfaces spiced up with loads of fun features, such as a gallery, a virtual shopping paradise and a jukebox. A supersatisfied client and a bunch of records in people’s personal blogs prove it to be a success.

In a world ruled by K3 and Mega Mindy, bringing classical music to children is quite a challenge. Luckily, DeFilharmonie decided to team up with Design is Dead for the apparent mission impossible to make a website for children about their orchestra. We mixed, matched, animated and created a fun, playful and very intuitive discovery tour through the wonderful world of violins and wind sections. It earned us –amongst others- an honourable record in Weekend Knack magazine. Beat that, Mega Mindy!

Well, the weather wasn’t on Live Nation’s side during the first edition of Werchter Boutique, but we sure as hell made those guys a sunny site. A family friendly place, made of heavenly blue, grass green and a tropical touch: like the festival itself.

A four-day-marathon of musical delicacies calls for an equally rockalicious representation online: we know that much after designing the music feast’s webspot for years. For the 2008 edition, we pulled out all tricks to provide music lovers with nicely wrapped and much needed information, fun stuff and some homemade behind-the-scenes footage.

For the Lokerse Feesten festival we went completely nuts and created a swingin’ rock ‘n roll fantasy fair online. A little vintage, a lot of guts and some red velvet make this website an appropriate environment to host big fish such as the Sex Pistols, Sonic Youth and Massive Attack.
